Each week (normally on fridays) I construct a post outlining what accomplishments were done in regards to my STEEM service development as well as witness campaign. Being a firm believer in transparency as well as community based service building I take these 2 elements to heart, deploying them in all aspects of my development and design where they'll fit in! This week saw many neat advances in a few of my projects as well as some useful Steemit.com mods released.
This Week is STEEM Witness
Was a pretty darn productive week although sadly I missed my mark on getting the @Tippy text-to-tip service finished and operational.. However 2 public tests were quite succesful and showed me a few more changes in the code are needed before it's ready to go live! Thanks to all who helped with the testing, stay tuned to my blog for more upcoming public tests and your chance to win sweet sweet
Started Releasing Steemit.com Mods - #steemit-mods
While I've never viewed myself as much of a "worker bee" type one thing I'm passionate about is improving user experience and usability on the Steemit platform via custom javascript mods! It's long been a dream of mine to be part of a technical revolution and with the advent of STEEM having been lucky to hear about it early on jumped at the opportunity, setting my sights on a developer position to create services for our network.
Please check out the links above in the images to see this weeks Steemit.com mods. Hopefully you find something useful to help you on your journey to STEEM success!
Conducted Public Stress Tests on @Tippy
Nearly anyone can code! People often praise me for being intelligent and releasing code for them to use but the truth of the matter is I never went to school for IT stuff nor do I have any formal training. Everything I learned was through google searches, trial and error and wanting to learn. While creating an application is a large part of development a more important element is testing said code. When you're dealing with service development eventually you have to publicly test things in order to find your bugs before it goes live..!
Tests this week were aimed at testing how the service handles multiple concurrent requests and a fair amount of bugs were found allowing me to start trying to fix them. A huge thanks to those who were involved. Will be more public tests upcoming with prizes to be won and lots of fun to be had. Follow @KLYE here on Steemit.com to get notified on your feed!
In lieu of the planned launch for today I've got to push the launch back date further in order to get the application production ready. Security, scalability and stability testing come first before launch, I refuse to release buggy or unstable software when dealing with user funds and transfers. I apologize for not having the service completed and running yet but at the end of the day I'd much rather delay it until I know it's 110% ready rather than run into problems after a launch.
Have yourself a great weekend! Stay safe everyone!
