I am very glad to announce that the new witness has been launched smoothly joining the STEEM witness's family to support the fast-growing blockchain of STEEM and the community around it.
First, let me give a brief introduction of myself. My name is Anthony from the always sunny country ~ Malaysia. I am a software developer with a Computer Science degree from Ohio State University and over 10 years of software development and crypto technology's experiences.
I am using on STEEM for almost 2 years and really a big fan of STEEM. All these time I always wondered and wanted to go further on STEEM and the blockcain. Eventually, I start the
project which will not only help me to learn more STEEM and the blockchain, but also get involved more within the community.
Furthermore, witness node is just the beginning of the project. I will write them up more in up coming few days.
The Witness Server Specification
E3-1270v6 Processor
8 CPU @ 3.8Ghz
32 GB Memory
240GB x 2
5000GB Bandwidth
Thanks for the great resources from 's post, I manage to run the witness node on 32GB bare metal server. Let's take a look the screen shot from the server. The RAM usage on the witness node is actually less than 15%.
Currently I am running the witness on Vultr's bare metal server using shared memory with zram. I am pretty sure that this specification will need to upgrade as the project grows and also avoid most of the missed blocks that happen on the blockchain. I am still doing the research on choosing the right hosting company on upcoming upgrade. Beside the popular Digital Ocean, I heard a lot of good reviews about . If any of you have any recommendations or suggestions, please feel free to let me know.
The replay process is 100% completed and we are ready to go on producing STEEM blocks.
Vote for US!
As it is important that getting votes from STEEM community, if you like what I am working on and would like to support, you can vote either via the Steemit witness page or via Steemconnect. Both options are presented here.
Thank You for taking the time to read this and consider as your witnesses. Even you don't vote for me, you should still vote for the one that you like as this is crucial to future development of STEEM.
