If you are tired of doing the same commands over and over again, try automating them. I regularly check the logs of my seed server and witness server and it usually takes about 5 minutes, but with Apple script it takes about 10-15 seconds
with a simple Hotkey command.
- Lauch Automator on Mac
- Press New Document
- Choose Service
- Drag Apple Script icon to the right
- Set the following variables to "no input" and "any application"
- Replace with following code
You can use this template to generate any commands you type in to check your logs step by step.
on run {input, parameters}
tell application "Terminal"
reopen
activate
set currentTab to do script ("ssh user@ipaddress")
delay 2
do script ("password") in currentTab
delay 1
do script ("cd steem-docker") in currentTab
do script ("./run.sh logs") in currentTab
end tell
end run
Insert your own:
a. user@ipaddress
b. password
and you are good to go
I recommend using delay in between commands. This example uses Steem-in-a-box Docker by (), but you can type any commands you usually use.
7.. Save your file when you are done inserting and testing your code
8.. Launch your "System Preferences" -> Keyboard -> Shortcuts -> Services
and scroll down to your saved service. Activate it and double click on it to Add Shortcut
Thats it, have fun with your new Hotkey command!
