Intro:
During the past two months, I have been working on the FullALT Road Map for 2021 and projected planning for 2021/2022 and alongside that tried to fit in my own life road map and plans for 2021 and alongside that my plans as a Witness/Representative of all those who vote for me as a Hive Witness.
That is the background to the following.
Over the past three years it has been a huge learning experience on this chain and just as much if not more of a learning experience in the various communities that utilize the chain.
So much so, that it has become clear to me that what all “Governance“ entails will never be defined, no matter how crystal clear the diverse responsibilities are of those in it and how they affect the “here & now“ and more importantly the “future“.
There are many things that I wish to address, however this following post, which serves as a letter of resignation for my witness campaign is not the place for them.
RE: Resignation/shutting down of my witness node & witness campaign.
It is with great pleasure and at the same time with a dose of somewhat undesirable “sadness” (I guess) that this Letter of Resignation is being handed in. All the reasons are explained below.
My responsibilities and duties as a member of this endeavour that we call home, “Hive”, have increased in many ways. The focus of the work included has intensified to the point where logic has to prevail over personal wishes or opinions.
As many of you know already, for over a year now, my duties within the team of fellow Hive enthusiasts named “FullALT” have been more so the focus of my invested time and work. Especially in dedication needed for the tools and apps that we are building for Hive, HIVE & HBD.
As time is limited to only 24 hrs a day and unfortunately I can’t do the 48 or 36 hr straight shifts any more. It is clear to me that I must adapt to the reality of my responsibilities and duties.
That literally sums it up.
Duty comes first and foremost over any personal opinions, wishes or feelings. In my life I need to do things once and do them right. If I can’t fulfil all my duties and responsibilities that I have taken on, then I must re-evaluate that list and ensure that I cover what I can, effectively and responsibly.
Conclusion:
It may take some more time than what some of us “hope for” to recover from the evils of the past, more importantly it will take a lot of time and effort to remove the negative aspects from the past.
However, it is with great certainty that I can state:
“Hive is heading in the right direction.”
Which is something ‘back in the day’, no rational person who believes in what crypto and the blockhcain scene have to offer humanity could say about Steem .
FINALLY! (Sigh of relief!)
Our greatest drawbacks are the leftovers, the skeletons in the closet from ‘back in the day’. Not only in the code, but more so in the changes needed on the individual levels.
However, THIS IS CHANGING.
& THAT IS WHAT MATTERS.
After the last HF, it became clear that some of the most active and definitely hugest contributors to the chain are looking at what is best for Hive and EVERYONE who utilizes Hive.
I can now state that we have two witnesses out there among those who fall into the above description, in whom I as an individual can count on for nothing but the best interests of ALL THINGS Hive, 7 days a week. Without a gram of doubt in my mind that their thoughts, intentions and actions do not include a dose of hedonism, nor ulterior motives that incorporate greed or any other self-centred agenda. 100% guaranteed, based upon EVERYTHING that they have done & are doing for Hive. They are: 
My individual responsibilities as a contributor to Hive, that once were part of my witness campaign and which too often were mistaken as an attempt to “get witness votes” can now continue on without the cloud of doubt in peoples mind that looms over any and all witnesses (in particular those of us not in The TOP20) who make public statements.
If anyone thinks for a moment that any one of us who has any stake has no say in anything, then “Think again”.
Take a look at the last HF, take a look at our GitLab repos, take a look at the upcoming HF, take a look at our public social media profiles. If you think that YOU do not matter: “You are WRONG.”
EVERYTHING THAT IS PROACTIVE, CONSTRUCTIVE, RATIONAL, POSSIBLE & PRODUCTIVE
Is clearly being taken note of and acted upon within reason.
Hive is not Steem.
More importantly, Hive is heading in a direction that is above and beyond the slums of what the crypto scene has fallen into due to bad actors.
Even more importantly, our chain is heading in a direction that is compliant with the dream of what blockchain has to offer humanity.
Our two native currencies HIVE & HBD can now be concentrated on as CURRENCIES that are being printed for the good of humanity. EVERYONE and not simply for “trading” on exchanges.
So our focuses need to adapt and comply to this paradigm of things on Hive.
We all need to start thinking LONG TERM and not be overwhelmed by the noise caused by those who only care about the present moment and their own little instant $$$$ driven agendas.
Never was and never will be one of those people who thinks and talks as if “they know everything about everything”.
In fact, I don’t have time for those types of people, as time is limited (mentioned earlier).
What I shall promise is that I will continue investing my efforts, knowhow, heart and energy within that time for the good of Hive, both as an individual and as a part of the FullALT venture, accordingly with the new needs that shall further help grow, expand and increase individual responsibilities of each and every one of us who utilize Hive, HIVE or HBD within their specific markets.
Hive is ALIVE!

Plus they have gone the extra mile to expand their servers to multiple countries/jurisdictions, hence ensuring added decentralization in everything they offer. Which is in fact what matters in the pure heart of what we blockchain and crypto enthusiasts are truly about “Independence via decentralization”.
