Few days ago, when the blockchain froze, I switched some witness-votes around. I especially looked at those witnesses who were slow in updating/bringing back their nodes.
Now, at the same time I caught wind of a theory about @netuoso having connections to the account that caused the bug which froze the blockchain.
While I def. didn't unvote netuoso due to this theory (!), it made the decision on an unconscious level easier as I wasn't satisfied with the way he handled the freeze - making a joke when the blockchain stoped working is not something I'd expect from a top witness, especially when the witness is disabled and no updates were given.
6 days ago, wrote an open letter where he explained that he had nothing to do with the bug and everything was a tragic coincidence.
And I believe him!
But in that timeframe, lost over 10 witness spots (from top 20 to #30) - which is absolutely nuts.
has done a lot of good in his time on Steem. Just recently, he fixed a huge pain-problem in steem-js for witnesses (https://github.com/steemit/steem-js/pull/390) and being punished for something that he had no connections with, is not fair.
Witchhunts and rumours based on false facts are dangerous and can cause huge problems for individuals!
I personally have voted for again and I'm urging other Steemians, who have recently unvoted him, to do the same.
We are on Steem because we believe in technology and logic - not in gossip and rumour.
