Following all of the recent drama with the hostile takeover of STEEM, my witness server now runs the first version of the code that is available for the new fork of STEEM called HIVE. My first hive block (or is that 'cell'?) will be created in a few hours as I am currently way down the list of witnesses due to stake having been temporarily used to try to outvote the sockpuppet witnesses operated by TRON.
If you have voted for me previously and moved your vote to one of the previous top 20 STEEM witnesses, thanks for your valiant effort! I would appreciate if you would consider re-voting for me once the HIVE chain is live in the very near future.
I have been participating in the ongoing saga of political discussion and dispute resolution on Twitter. As Justin Sun continues to destroy his own reputation by denying reality and even now going as far as censoring posts on Steemit.com that criticise him or support Hive!
In the process of that I have updated a previous post on the situation to make it easier to access video and text evidence of Ned's many declarations that the Ninja Mined STEEM stake was to be used to decentralise the community (not centralise it).
My thought on HIVE
It's too early to comment in depth on the future of HIVE, but as a witness I cannot support STEEM when it is being deliberately centralised and destroyed from 'within' by Justin Sun and TRON. At present running a witness server for STEEM is financially unviable for me since it is a dead loss.
The new blockchain has great support from developers and the community in general, so I expect it to really replace STEEM in a relatively short space of time - provided it receives enough financial support to keep essential hardware running.
So far I am optimistic about HIVE, despite being vocal about my opposition to the choice of name. A hive is a symbol for a centralised and homogeneous expression of (un)consciousness and since it is specifically intended to overcome STEEM's previous issues with centralisation, I find the choice of name to be very poor. STEEM's other key problem involved the poor community engagement from Steemit inc. and the fact that the HIVE team did not consult the community before naming the project does not inspire me with confidence that lessons have been learned. However, I appreciate that they are working to get HIVE running quickly and am willing to give them the benefit of the doubt here.
Wishing you well,
Ura Soul

Note: Witnesses are the computer servers that run the Steem Blockchain.
Without witnesses there is no Steem blockchain or DApps such as Steemit, Steempeak and 3Speak... You can really help Steem by making your witness votes count!
