Its a remarkable tale. Ada Lovelace, a British mathematician is the daughter of the eighteenth century's version of a rock star, Lord Byron. Ada was born in the 19th century, as the pride of science, she can be considered as the mother of a digital revolution.
[Ada Lovelace], like Steve Jobs, stands at the intersection of arts and technology." - Walter Isaacson, author of The Innovators.
Lovelace's story and life captured me for my past chilled days on a mini vacation in the viennese woods. Her extravagant father was known for his lavish lifestyle and sexual escapades but was one of the greatest British poets of his times.
Here we go with my new tag #womancrushtuesday, a call for all awesome female steemians to let our community know what crushes you have. I will introduce my first one today.
I have lots of crushes, mostly musicians and I mentioned quite a few in my previous articles, but strong, intelligent and educated, strictly forbidden women of their days, fascinate me most, more than any brilliant man can do.
Myth or Fact?
We couldn't image our lives without computers. How did it all start?
I wanted to research whats the truth about Ada and did she really write what is today considered the world's first computer program?
Ada's Algorithm
Because, after computer pioneers such as Alan Turing began to rediscover her, it slowly became apparent that she had been a key but overlooked figure in the invention of the computer. In Ada Lovelace, The Author James Essinger makes the case that the computer age could have started two centuries ago if Lovelace's contemporaries had recognized her research and fully grasped its implications.- Source
Ada's Algorithm is a look at Ada Lovelace's contributions and her work with the son of a London banker and father of computing, Charles Babbage is simply impressive. Source and review of the book
She was the first debugger finding an error in one of Babbage’s calculations. The annually Ada Award recognises outstanding contributions to computing by woman.

BBC DOCUMENTARY : Calculating Ada - The Countess of Computing 2015
Hannah traces Ada's unlikely union with the father of computers, Charles Babbage. Babbage designed the world's first steam-powered computers - most famously the analytical engine - but it was Ada who realised the full potential of these new machines. During her own lifetime, Ada was most famous for being the daughter of romantic poet Lord Byron ('mad, bad and dangerous to know'). It was only with the advent of modern computing that Ada's understanding of their flexibility and power (that they could be far more than mere number crunchers) was recognised as truly visionary. Hannah explores how Ada's unique inheritance - poetic imagination and rational logic, made her the ideal prophet of the digital age.
PS : Don't mix it up with Linda Lovelace ( The Deep Throat Pornstar of the 70's ) She will be next :)
