Dear Supporters,
Welcome to our update. Our training class is going on as usual and will get a break in next month until we find a new trainer. I am also looking for a room near to slum area where they can work, display their products and take orders from local people. But we also realize that many of the products we are producing are not regular products.
If we want to go close to people would love to buy such products, we will be needed huge fund in the beginning even if we want to start with a small room. The brand like Arrong working with the big investment and people like to buy their products as it is contributing to society, great brand image and quality. Arrong is a social venture by world leading NGO called BRAC which also promote handcrafted products by underprivileged women. I didn't know that Arrong is a concept of BRAC and it also promotes goods by lower-income families before the video I found on youtube 2 months ago.
We bought a new sewing machine for which will help us when we have a physical shop. I believe we will able to contribute our locality the way BRAC is trying to help countrywide through the social venture. But we need to gain more acceptance globally, locally and reach people who have something extra to buy things like this.
The new sewing machine was supported by @ADollarADay charitable giving project run by . I am focusing on webshop right now which will cost less than a physical shop. It will help to showcase the products on the website by @WomenEmpowerment. Also, we will able to link the webshop with steem blockchain via
. I already bought the domain http://www.womenempowermentbd.com from Godaddy. The domain will least two years at cost 11.35 USD and will need to be renewed before expiration. I will work to get convenience hosting package. And will start working on localhost to customize themes for the webshop.
In total, we have raised around $70.064 SBD and around 185.026 Steem which includes direct donations of 58.494 Steem from@r2cornell, 0.392 SBD From , 0.097 SBD from
for the shop.
The picture was taken 9 September 2018: The shop was near the slum area but hard to reach potential clients we are expecting. Also, the rent is very high than previous potential shops I shared. I talked with the landlord twice. I am looking for a shop which will cost less. We at least have to have local demand, find other shops for the products before starting a local shop. already shared a shop info who might be interested to buy goods from such venture. I will check it too.
The shop in our area will only focus local demand when many products we make are not regular products. As the people, surrounding areas are no
But as we need a big fixed amount to start a physical shop which also needs a regular flow of revenue for employers, I would like to start with webshop development for now. I believe the cost will be less than the physical shop and more global reach. In addition to this, The promotion and monetization of web shop content via steem blockchain will help to raise fund for further development of the social venture.
Moreover, @ADollarADay is supporting for the training program and development of the resources for @WomenEmpowerment. The regular post from also helps to keep the training program continue. You will find the project on
which is a decentralized crowdfunding platform based on steem blockchain. If you would like to start a project there, go for more info:
Our next step will be developing webshop and share the progress with you. And the fundraising through the project proposal on fundition.io will help the development of the shop through both webshop and physical shop.
