I am a full time woodcarver, I work a lot on commission work and often that leads to onsite work...setting up to carve the tree that was what Canadians call "Manitoba Maple" and what is known in the US as Boxelder, the tree trunk was much taller than what was required for the carving so I had to remove a chunk
The wood can be very nice and this was the case with this tree...very large diameter around 33" at the base. The carving requested was a waving troll...
after a few sessions the carving was complete
The extra bit of log was rolled onto my trailer and taken to my shop
