Green Leaves
Tall grasses sway with the summer breeze,
green leaves drape the branches of trees.
The flora’s splendor lures all the birds,
leaving one in awe and out of words.
The foliage and the greenery,
a quaint and delightful scenery
put on a show of nature’s budding
that resembles life’s beginning.
Watch how each leaf catches the dew
embracing it all the way through,
from its stem to its roots
a placid caress to conduce.
Take a pause and look closely
how it flaunts its beauty boldly,
complex patterns the veins display
a work of art one cannot put away.
The grasses where I once lay,
the green leaves I could stare at all day
their grandeur to rejoice and to cherish
I hope never shall they ever perish.
