Kim Jong Un, North Korea's leader, has announced a will to improve relations with South Korea after he met with the South Korean delegation with the aim of activating the dialogue between the two countries and alleviating military tension in the Korean peninsula.
North Korea has expressed a willingness to stop using nuclear weapons if the country's security is guaranteed.
A South Korean delegation led by Chung Eui-yong met with the North's leader, yesterday, and gave a press conference on Tuesday in Seoul.
Kim Jong Un has said that his country is ready to start negotiations with the United States to abandon the nuclear weapons program and suspend all ballistic missile tests.
The North Korean government considered that there is no need to maintain the nuclear program as long as there is no military threat and that the security of the Kim Jong Un regime is guaranteed.
The two Koreas also agreed to speak at a summit, the first in more than a decade, scheduled for late April, and also agreed to create a specific hotline between the two countries to facilitate the talking.
The summit will be held in Panmunjom, in the midst of one demilitarized zone separating North Korea from South Korea.
In the mid time, U.S President Donald Trump posted a tweet about this situation.
