We had just past the halfway mark of World Cup 2018, with 36 matches completed and another 32 to go. I had joined a few competitions here on Steemit and let's look at how 
Hive account@jrvacation is doing.
1. The STEEM FIFA Fantasy League
This was organised by 
Hive account@acidyo, making use of the Fifa Fantasy League , and my team name is jrvacation. Didn't research much on the World Cup players prior to the tournament, my team did not perform well in Round 1. In Round 2, it was much better with several good selection of top performing players including Harry Kane from England.
Currently, jrvacation team is sitting at Top Spot of Hive account@acidyo's Steem League. I hope my team can maintain this spot going into the knockout stage. Had also earned several badges, including the 100 points club! Take a look at my Round 3 team. Frankly, I don't think this team can score well.
2. The Steemitboard World Cup Contest

Hive account@steemitboard, the Steemitboard World Cup contest is really fun. Everyday, we have to make guesses on each match outcome and it is becoming more and more difficult in this unpredictable World Cup.
I am currently holding the 20th spot with 21 badges (correct matches prediction), just 3 away from the top guy.
3. The @Blocktrades World Cup
The @Blocktrades World Cup was actually the first World Cup contest that I joined. Organised by 
Hive account@blocktrades and promoted by 
Hive account@anomadsoul and Hive account@acidyo, we have to make predictions of each of the 48 matches outcome before the tournament started.
To be honest, this contest is the least interesting to me. Unlike the Fantasy league and Steemitboard contest, once the prediction is made, you practically play no part in it anymore. All you have to do is wait till the end of the Group Stages and wait for the result. I don't even keep track of my progress anymore.
4. Steem-Oracle - World Cup Prediction Game
This game was created by 
Hive account@culgin where participants make predictions of match outcomes. The main difference of 
Hive account@steemoracle from the other contests, is that winnings are immediate and rewarded after every match. Even a wrong prediction will see your 'losses' going into a grand pool which will be converted to Steem Basic Income shares to reward the overall Top 10 predictors.
I had only participated in a few of Hive account@steemoracle matches and won a little Steem/SBD.
It is still not too late to join these contests if you are a football fan.
