Hey everyone, first of all I would like to welcome you to my new post and hope you have a day that has brought many interesting experiences into your life! Today I took the time to write something about my experiences while traveling and I am happy if you like my post.
When I was in Thailand I decided to visit the ancient city of Ayutthaya which from a historical point of view is one of the most important of the country which is located in the northern part of the Bangkok. It was once an important capital that had experienced a huge flowering period and was considered a very important trading center which, due to its good central location, could maintain relations with various other countries. Here once lived numerous traders from different nations and the unique thing was definitely that it was at that time one of the most important world cities in which different cultures mixed and this is noticeable in different areas as well as the buildings. Also different religions were to be found here and in addition to the most important religion of Buddhism there were even churches or mosques and the whole city is like a kind of open-air museum which is full of ancient temples which are architecturally simply masterpieces. I have decided to spend a night here but it can also be worthwhile to make a day trip and from Bangkok it can be easily reached by train and alternatively it can also be worthwhile to use a Grab or Bolt which are the most common alternatives to Uber here but the price should always be compared because I have the experience that Bolt is cheaper in Thailand, but this of course depends on the area.
On site I decided to rent a bike but it is also popular to take a tuk tuk between the various sights, but the bike is the best and most independent alternative and also extremely cheap. Shortly after I arrived, I made my way to the hotel to check in and walked straight to rent a bike and got a bike for only 50 BHT which I could use for the whole day and I also got a map right away with which the most important sights were marked. There are two different sides of the city and for me it was the best option to take a ferry which is in 10 minutes on the other side and costs only a few cents and the next day I explored the other part and I think I was able to explore pretty much all the important sights in these two days. When it comes to temples, every visitor will probably get the full cost and I have decided to buy a combination ticket, which was definitely a good decision because so much can be saved compared to the individual prices.
On the first day I explored the various sights of which the most famous are probably Wat Mahathat, Wat Chaiwatthanaram or Wat Phra Si Sanphet and at the end of the long day, I decided to ride a elephant. The next day I have visited the sights on the other side but didn't borrow a bike because I could reach everything here relatively easily on foot and here also half a day was enough and I found it particularly interesting to visit the Buddhist complex where I could get to know a lot about the culture as well as the floating market. For visitors of the country I would in any case recommend to spend a day here but it's much better to sleep here one night and also the connection by train is really perfect and from morning to evening there are connections here which sometimes run more or less regularly.
Many thanks for stopping by and I hope you could learn something new and like my post and appreciate my effort! I captured these pictures with my Sony Alpha 6000 plus 55-210 mm and iPhone 16.
