Google defines integrity as "The quality of being honest and having strong moral principals."
People who have integrity say, "I'll get that done," and they do because they said they would. Slackening off from following through makes them feel bad. So if someone says they will do something for you and forgets do not be surprised to get sincere apologies and the job done. It is what people with integrity are like. They have a well developed conscience, are trustworthy and sincere. The positive thing is that lots of everyday people have this quality.
.
As we know however, not every individual has integrity. Some business people say they will ring back and never do, so annoying. The sad fact is that there are countless stories of people being ripped off by con artists who are most unrepentant and uncaring showing no conscience or empathy for their victims.
Salesmen, politicians and real estate agents are often branded as having little or no integrity according to many individuals. But, it is not a black and white world and of course it is not possible to brand everyone. There are people in these jobs who do have moral compasses and honesty, thank goodness.

Can we pick whether someone has integrity or not? Yes and no. Some people are so gifted in the art of persuasion that we leave a meeting thinking how genuine and nice they are. Sadly, it is all talk and no action. On the other hand sometimes it is an easy pick when an individual's soul shines out. It is a mixed bag of hit and miss.
Cheers and Blessings
