He was called the oracle.
Or the madman.
Depends on from who you ask.
He had arrived the town, accepted by all. The people arrived to listen to his stories and his ramblings, prophecies for the people, tales from the past. They were curious and people were excited and in doubt.
Nobody could prove his words true, nobody could prove them as lies.
The only tragedy which hit them all that day was when he saw the noble girl with her noble father.
"Your blood is responsible for the misery in this world. All your mothers and fathers are part of the sin, the pain upon us all. Without your line, there would be no hunger or strife.
It weren't you minds and souls crafting the doom, but the family, which is old like the burden of it. On the day of catastrophe, it was mother of your family who killed them all. She was the one who destroyed the continents and made the mankind fall.
The war which was born was born from powers of her. From the greed and fear, to stop and kill. That was the day magic was born to the world, it was the day when her wicked powers slaid them.
We are all that's left and you, the blood and family of the murderer, mad wizard and destroyer of the world, you live and prosper as nobles, living your entitled lives in the chaos you've created.
Everyone around looked both at the oracle, the madman. Then at the nobleman and his child.
"There is no point in your words, madman.", said the nobleman and walked away.
Nobody knew how to react, so they didn't. The madman went on with his ramblings and left in the end. He thanked the people for their kindness and continued on with his travels.
It was the tragedy, as people lived in doubt. The doubt turned into rumors and the rumors were thought to be the truth. The noble family was slowly faded down into ruin. The other nobles faded them from their circles, the people started to despise them.
The manor fell to ruin, the family fortune started to diminish. Piece by piece they lost what they owned.
The nobleman ultimately fell ill. He was no longer needed, no longer wanted. His kindness and wisdom was without a value and the plans for the daughter were brought down. The daughter had already been lonely and she didn't understand to worry for her past. She had one loyal friend who was with her, despite the hate.
She had no fear of the future and no attachment to the glory and status of nobility. She grew up in the people's despise, without remorse, looking for a life to live as a warrior. To protect their people, even though the people didn't want her and her family.
Was there any happiness to be found for her?
"Eve, will you be my wife?"
"Sigmund.. are you sure? Will your family approve? We're no longer equals in their eyes and they've hated the fact were friends. They would never approve this."
Sigmund gave a smile.
"They will have to. I don't care of your and your familys reputation. I love you and I want to be your husbans."
Eve leaped at Sigmund and hugged him tight.
"I will be happy to marry you!"
There might be happiness for them in the future, but most importantly they were happy now.
At least for this short moment, together.
Might be related to the characters in the previous story and the future story.
