Self-Doubt, the ONLY thing keeping you from SUCCESS is YOU
'Doubt kills more dreams than failure ever will'
The only thing standing in your way of success is you. Yes! It is true. There is only one person who can hold you back from succeeding in every aspect of your life and that person is YOU. It's ironic really, as children we felt as if our parents held us back from having all the fun but, as an adult we are the ones who keep us from the fun or in this case success. Reality is, there is probably a million reasons why we allow self-doubt to hold us back. These are just a few that come to mind in the moment:
*fear of failure
*fear of success
*not confident in yourself
*afraid of what others may think
It is strange really, when you think about it, that fear of success would hold you back. But, the harsh reality is that some people fear success more than failure. Those people tend to be the ones who grew up in a low income family living paycheck to paycheck. Let's face it, most of us had that family at some point. What sets us apart from our families is, how bad we want it. We could sit back and stay broke every day of our lives or, we could make a decision to change that and for the better. Fear of success can only hold you back if you give it the power over you. You are the one in power. Your decision will change your future forever, why not make a better decision and tell fear to kiss your *** yeah, you know what I mean.
'The word Impossible reads I'm Possible'
Now fear of failure is a whole other story and believe it or not the general population is most afraid of this. It actually trumps fear of heights, snakes, and spiders the most. Why is that, I wonder. Haven't you ever done something that turned out to be an epic mistake? Yeah! Me too. We are only human and we cannot control everything. But, the one thing we can control is our own actions. We can choose to let the fear of failure stop us from ever trying. But, if we do that doesn't that just make us a big coward in the end? Perhaps! We give too much power over this fear. Constantly telling ourselves we can't do something or the timing is not right. When in fact, we know we could do it and it is the right time. Yet! Our self-doubt talks us out of even trying. That damn thing needs to take a hike. You can do anything you set your mind too, even if that mind is set to be a millionaire. The only reason you will not succeed is because you allow this fear to rule your life and your choices. Don't let it have that power of you. In the end it is not worth it.
'Be humble in your confidence yet courageous in your character'
Confidence speaks volumes. It shows people you feel confident, that you are right for the job, that you believe in yourself. But, confidence can be a tricky little thing. For those who grew up with less praise and complements it may seem as if they have no confidence. Though, I have to tell you, there is not one single person on this plant that has zero confidence. You can lack in it but, you will never not have it. You have to first believe in yourself. Believe that you can do it. Believe that you WILL do it. Believe that ANYTHING is POSSIBLE including YOUR SUCCESS. Then, confidence will follow. Just remember, confidence does not equal snarky, stuck up, nosy, rude people. That's just an a-hole, confidence shows the world you know who you are and that you can do anything not, that you are the princess of the universe.
'Opinions are like a-holes everyone's got one'
Everyone is going to have their own opinion and some will be quite negative. There really is only one way to deal with this. Remember, those opinions mean jack sh*t to you and does not define you or what you are trying to accomplish. What people think of you means very little compared to what you think of yourself. Look at yourself in the mirror, if you love who is staring back at you then, don't change a thing. BUT, if you do not recognize the person looking back at you or you do not like what you see then, I suggest you RUN do not walk, RUN to change it. Just don't break that mirror or you will have to live with seven years of bad luck. And, I don't mean the physical appearance. It doesn't matter if you are pimply faced and wear nerdy glasses or have the most beautiful smile, what matters is how you FEEL about yourself. You are not here to please everyone else or anyone else, your only job is to please yourself and love yourself. Everything else, the opinions of what others think about you, how others feel about you, is their problem, NOT YOURS.
