I am in month three of Author land, and am getting ready to launch a second book...as well as revamping my first to fit in with the first volume.
I try very hard to share my writing journey in an attempt to help others on the same path, I am not a best selling writer so cannot possibly try and share the best selling secret knowledge, but I can share any knowledge that I have in self-publishing and making a physical book!
I am currently listening to Stephens Kings 'On writing, a memoir of craft' I wouldn't normally listen to such things, but he said the funniest thing on a sample I listened to, which I completely get. I love Stephen King for his ability to have very creative but direct dialect. He quotes in his book:
'I didn't want to write a book that sounds like a literacy gas bag'
It made me laugh because when you get into writing, you read and listen to everything you can to learn and there is a lot of rubbish knocking about from pretentious 'know it alls' and you have to sift through the crap to get through to the good stuff. He goes on about this a little more saying there is a lot that bull out there and he doesn't need to contribute to it.
I haven't finished the audiobook, but when I do, I will report on whether he achieved the goal of impressing me (Of course that wasn't HIS goal...That would be really cool if it was true though!)
All my social networks, emails etc can be found on my website. Please do get in touch. I'm also on discord (but a bit rubbish on it to be honest. My name is sarahewaring&aubreyfox on there.)
Back to you guys, who is just starting out as an author and who could do with some peer support?
Drop me a comment, get in touch or do what ever you like!
