Hi there wonderful steemians ๐.
Me loading samples for PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction)
Me operating the #MiSeq (it is used for sequencing)
Preparing samples for a qPCR/rtPCR
Just thought you should know: I love my codes
ATGCCAGTTAACTG........
Lol๐, confused? I'm gisting you about the first programming codes ever, it was written by God.
A - Adenine
C - Cytosine
G - Guanine
T - Thymine
These are the #DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) codes. T is replaced by U (uracil) in #RNA. They work in base pairs.
A-T
C-G
G-C
T-A
Lemmi break it down,
Y'all be hearing about biotechnology right? It is the useful application of living things for a better living (by my definition because it totally improves the quality of life).
It is useful in all walks of life. Industry, Medicine, Agriculture, etc.
Personally, the branch of biotechnology I love the most is molecular biology.
Knowing the in and out of CRISPR, ZFNs, TALENS in gene editing or the beautiful way pharcogenomics (which is the field of biotechnology that deals with customizing drugs for individual needs) works.
Knowing life could be made better through genetic modification of plants and animals to provide required nutrients and supplements in form of prebiotics and probiotics๐
Oh what a wonder! From the days of Dolly the sheep to Flavor Savr tomato, to golden rice, to insulin production, to starter culture, biotechnology keeps getting better daily.
We can't forget the wonderful roles played by E. coli and S. cerevisiae (Baker's yeast).
