Hi; briefly when I have an idea on how to be more effective or efficient in Steemit I post it in my Steemit College Subject Learning course. Simply the College part says you need to study and learn over time how to get good at something like writing or presenting.
Good; to keep moving and keep someones attention for the true surfer who does not stop to read.
Include lots of white space around tiny paragraphs, make sure you are clear and concise, consider this.
Why a boat needs SIX anchors . . .
Firstly boats are vulnerable to wind and tide waves while in the water. So your boat needs a fail safe way to stay not moving when around dangerous situations; therefor you need six anchors. River bottoms might be seaweed, grass, rock, mud or sand; so one anchor will just never been enough.
First is your RIVER anchor, it is a simple round shape that just lets your boat stop for lunch or to fish, it is unreliable and temporary, you must supervise its use. Next is a solid reliable anchor for overnight sleeping stops. The CLAW or Bruce anchor allows almost guaranteed staying stopped safe anchoring, if you use the RIVER anchor to keep the anchor rope down near horizontal along the river bottom the CLAW will hold better.
The NAVY anchor works well with rocks and mud, It basically holds by simply dragging along the bottom; its a good all round performer for small storms. Now we add a PLOW anchor this sharp tip digs DEEP into gravel and sand and holds well even in strong storms. With the added weight of the NAVY anchor the anchor rope is forced to stay along the river bottom and not flip up pulling the anchor out from it setting deep in the bottom materials.
Next is a anchor FLOAT this marks the location of the anchor lines and helps retrieve deeply set anchors, it also allows the anchor rope to have some bounce in big storms so it absorbs some of the wave shocks against your boat, it makes you more comfortable; less sea sickness means a more pleasant water experience.
Lastly a SEA anchor this is a large canvas bag that catches the sea waves on the surface. Should your steering fail or your motor give out this anchor can help you keep your boat pointed into the weather as you desire. It stops the boat being tossed around and keeps the low stern of the boat pointed away from waves that might swamp your powerless boat.
Given your boat cost money plus you and your family or friends are on board it is the best and cheapest insurance against most likely events that having six anchors will keep you and your boat safe. The last thing you need is to have an unreliable way to stay stopped and safe off a rocky coastline.
So do yourself a favor and race out and buy yourself six anchors, after all what have you got to lose ?
Your boat ?, your Family or yourself . . .
Happy Sails : )
/ hugz ; )
And that is how to quickly make a useful post that people might stop and read; remember your title line and picture is the thing that gets their attention to at least stop in the first place . . .
But mindless waffling and irrelevant or off topic sidetracking is the surest way to lose your audience . . .
Till next time; see you on the BlockChain : )
and; done.
