When I took the kids out to the bus this morning and then got on my own bus, the best way to describe the weather was that it felt like a thunderstorm.
It was hot, it was muggy, the air felt thick and heavy and it felt like it was going to start raining and lightening any minute. I took my time walking the dogs to admire the new buds on the trees because even if it did rain, it was too warm to matter much.
So I went to work in just my short-sleeve shirt and jeans.
Now work is over, and it's cold out here fam. Lake Superior's mood swings can pull cold fronts in at insane speed.
So I'm complaining to you, shivering at the bus stop. And yes. It's raining. Thanks Nature. 😒
Also, nature! This creature is UNNECESARY!
I found this 2 1/2 inch long monster outside of work today. Don't worry, it was already dead when I found it so putting it in the container did it no harm.
I asked the internet. Hey! Internet. What is this monster and why is it not in the south with the other scary creatures?! This bug and its friends are the reason I live in snow 7 months of the freaking year!!!
The internet responded. That is a Giant Water Beetle, also known as a "Toe Pincher" and they live here sometimes.
Oh. Em. Gee. What next? Poisonous snakes and freaking tarantulas?! Global warming is a thing, people! Must. Seek. Colder. Grounds!
Ah yes, the church!
