What Does It Take To Become An Established Steemian?
- Is it possible for me to become a full time blogger on Steemit?
Fellow Steemians,
These are actually not so common questions...
Most people tend to ask questions like this:
How to get votes?
How can I make money?
I know where you're coming from. I've been in the same situation myself. I questioned myself, my writing skills and I've been so low at one point, that I actually thought about giving up Steemit for good, and never, ever, look back.
What I realized...
Was that it's entirely up to me to bring value and to work hard to reach the goals I have. If I don't write I will have zero chance. If I write I will have a chance. - However, I gave up asking these questions a long, long time ago...
I started to focus on minnows and to give them the answers for these questions, before they even asked them. Because I truly believe that if you start to ask these questions, you're already about to give up. And I don't want to be a part of that.
I would much rather be part of your success on Steemit. - That is the true reason for me to do the things I do.
But How Can I...?
To be strictly honest with you, I had my doubts.
How can I answer questions like this, when I haven't even reached my own goals on Steemit? And if and when I answer questions like this, how on earth could I provide good answers that people believed in? - The truth is, that I can't change people's beliefs or their choices.
That being said,
I have been a member on Steemit for 1 year. 366 days to be exact. I have been successful, I have reached the trending pages and I've had my fair shares of "ups and downs". - So I have gained experience.
It's not about being famous when you give advice. It's not about being an expert either. It's about sharing the best possible answers and information you can, based on your own experience. - And that's exactly what I'm doing.
As long as you can back your words up with proofs, anyone can be a support pillar or a knowledge bank. - That's my role on Steemit. That's my choice.
I can only be who I am and do the things I do. For myself and for others. - If people decide to believe me, trust me or to ignore me, that's entirely up to them.
Let's continue with this story...
I don't ask questions like "how can I earn?" or "What should I do to earn?" because that's not important. What's important is what I do and how I do things. - What I give and what I share. These things are important and these things are what matters.
My approach on Steemit is very similar to my freelancing approach.
I strive to help people, encourage them and to inspire them. And because I do these things, I earn. But I don't earn money each and every time. As a freelancer I provide my clients solutions and they pay me when they are satisfied. - I need to work hard to get there and it's impossible to please everyone. - That's life.
On Steemit, it's a bit different as people don't pay me directly for a solution for their problems... But I do get paid for the things I do. - And the earnings varies.
I have been a member for 1 year.
I have had "ups and downs" just like I've had in my freelance business. I have managed to build a following of almost 1000 followers. - That speaks for itself. - These people tend to like the things I do. In one way or another. Otherwise they wouldn't have followed me.
These are all tokens of appreciation and I am truly honored. I have not become selfish and I strive to encourage and motivate my readers in all my articles, even if it's a personal story or an article that targets minnows. I always try to bring value and things that will inspire my readers in one way or another. My hope is, that I'm able to highlight these things enough so people realize it. - And I have to say, that I truly believe that most of you do.
So let's break down my title into two separate questions...
- Can I Become An Established Full Time Steemian?
Can I Become An Established Steemian?
There you have it. I am already an established Steemian. I've managed to get 980+ followers and I probably have an average of ~40 upvotes or so on my articles. - That is basically the meaning of being established.
People might compare me with others, or compare themselves with me or other Steemians... - But please don't do that. I would never compare myself with others, as I would only end up being miserable and sad.
I compare the results I had yesterday with the results I'll get today. - If anything. - That's a great recipe for success as it's literally the perfect thing to do for self-improvement.
I will continue to push myself to become even more established and to get even more recognition. And to build my following even more. - And during the time I do that, I will continue to focus on minnows and to help others in need.
Can I Become A Full Time Steemian?
The short answer for this question is: No.
I will most likely never end up being hired by Steemit inc. And I will probably never get paid a salary for the things I do... - But this isn't what I'm looking for.
My dream would be to become a full time blogger on Steemit.
- But I don't want to write 10 hours per day.
I would love to earn a full time income from the content I share on Steemit... And even better, if I could reach such a goal along with my work as a full time freelancer. - That way, I'll be able to travel and do things I've never done before.
You know.. - I have not traveled anywhere in 20 years. - That's one of those things I truly want to do. I want to travel the world and experience new things. - However, until now, I haven't been able to do such things... And perhaps, I never will.
But this isn't about the limitations or what could or could not be. This is about my dreams and my goals.
I figured, as long as I have dreams like this, I would always be able to bring the best of me. And if I can put all of that into writing and share these things on Steemit. My dream could potentially become a reality. At some point.
