Father is a hardworking man. He delivers bread to bakeries around town as a living to support his wife and three children. After his work, he spent all his time attending classes to improve himself so that one day, he will be able to get a better paying job.
During Sundays, father hardly ate meal with the family. He worked and studied for the reason that he is doing this all for his family. He committed himself to providing his family a better and decent living.
Whenever mother and the children ask father to come and spend more time with them and complained that he's no longer spending much time with the family, father reasoned that he's doing it for them. But in his thoughts, he yearned so much to spend time with his loving family.
Father passed the examination with distinction!
He was immediately hired as a supervisor which paid him handsomely.
A dream come true! Father was able to afford the family's little luxuries like decent clothing, new furniture, good and healthy food. But mother and the children still did not see father often. He would still spend his Sundays studying because he took another course to improve himself more. Mother and children complained but father would tell them that all he's doing is for them.
His hard work paid off again. He was promoted. A few years passed and the family lived a comfortable life. They moved to a condominium and father even hired a maid so that someone will help mother do the chores while the children are at school. But father still does not spend much time with mother and the children. Again, he always reasoned that these things that he do are for them.
A big promotion came and father got it. He brought a beautiful house overlooking the coast. On the first Sunday on their new home, father announced that he will not be working today and facing clients. He also told mother and children that he will stop pursuing for a promotion and will stop taking up courses after work. That day was filled with joy for father, mother and the children.
Father never woke up after that night.
