Any writer will tell you that stringing words together in an attempt to make a living is a thankless, underpaying endeavor. We are at the bottom of the creative totem pole and everyone thinks they can do what we do.
I will spare you the horror stories of my freelancing career because I’m sure you have plenty of your own.
But now we have Steemit, and the world has changed. I discovered Steemit based on an offhand remark on a YouTube video when I was doing research for an ebook I was writing for a client. I like to think it was an act of Divine Intervention rather than dumb luck. But either way, I’ll take it.
That was two weeks ago. Now I am so into Steemit it’s not even funny.
I truly believe that cryptocurrency will change the world, and not just in the financial realm. I also believe that Steemit (and all other similar platforms to come) will change the way we create and consume content. It has already changed that for me.
This is a platform that can bring a level of freedom to people all over the world that was just a dream a few years ago.
I no longer check Facebook or Twitter to see what is going on. My first stop is Steemit. I like the positivity that is on here and I really like the fact that when I come across really excellent content I can upvote it and help the creator make some real money. This is game-changing.
Things can only get better from here, in my opinion. As more people discover Steemit they will flock to the platform and that will increase the value of STEEM and Steem Dollars, which, I think, will increase the payout for all creators.
There will always be people who will try to game the system and make a quick buck, but I think, overall, those who produce the best content will prevail. No matter what happens I will be here, sharing my thoughts and information, and hopefully, I can reach more people and make a living while doing it.
