I want to be a better writer and I need help, you interested?
I just graduated from the University of Texas at Dallas, and with no more structured curriculum in front of me I need to make my own. During college I violated an essential rule of writing. I rarely sought feedback on my drafts. I will be using this account to make to up for lost time. I want to write pieces, varying in length, across a range of subjects, such as philosophy, technology, productivity, literature, and whatever else has captured my imagination recently.
Did I use commas correctly in the previous sentence? I think so, but I am not 100% sure. I wished I had paid more attention in my grammar classes, but there is no going back now. I am looking for any sort of writing feedback. I will not shy away from feedback on basic stuff like punctuation, grammar, and word usage. I would love content feedback. Did you understand what I wanted to communicate? If not, I have a lot to fix. Did I leave you with more questions than answers? Assuming that was not the goal, then please let me know. How are my sentence lengths? Is there enough variety to make it interesting?
Providing detailed feedback is an expensive use of time. Hopefully the grammar junkies out there will latch on and find ultimate satisfaction in critiquing my use of the em dash. For those with a more reasonable definition of a good night, I would love to reciprocate and help you in any way that I can. If you have pieces in need of peer review, I am your guy. If there is a topic you would be interested in learning more about, I wouldn’t mind the writing prompt.
