I grew up in a community where it is believed that whatever an elderly person says is correct and right, as far as they are concerned, grey hair is a sign of wisdom.
Several times I have found myself in a state of confusion, deciding whether to trust my will on a certain situation, or go by an elders advice. sometimes it pays off when I go with the former, other times it doesn't. If the latter is the case, they make sure they sing it to me that what an elder sees while seating,a child cannot see it even if he/she climbs a tree.
I am not someone that disobey elders but I don't think they are always right and the credit of being wise should be earned, not dashed to all.
People back up the argument, saying that they are more experienced than youths, which makes them automatically wiser. I disagree with that because one doesn't have to wait for experience to learn, experience is not the only teacher, we can learn from people's mistake and research and I don't have to wait for grey hair to be wise, since am not foolish while am young.
This is just my own view and perspective, I will really love to hear from others.
