I've decided to not only remind myself about the characters, but I figured I'd give you something to sink your teeth into too.
It's a Man's world...
Or at least a Male's world...
Here are some of the good guys.
Nichasin - A Born Wolf and more than 500 years old - Hazel met him when she had first been Whelped and he travelled with Anton and Hazel down through France, over to Italy and on to Rome. Because they were similar age and ability, Anton mentored them both and one particularly horrifying night, they bonded and finally became lovers at Elizabeth's Ostia home.
Nichasin is still close to Hazel and appears from time to time. I think I’ll make a story about him because he really does have the potential to lead an adventure – probably with a few of his brothers (and possibly cousins).
Steve - A bitten Wolf of around 200 years - and one that survived when he shouldn't have because of his skill as a bare-knuckle fighter, he was backed by Hazel to save his life at a tribunal. By rights, Hazel should have mentored him, but she figured he'd learn on his own. He has risen to the position of Chief of Victoria's security staff.
I have an adventure in mind for Steve and it’s coming to me… I’ll have to settle down to writing again soon, these Wolves are starting to speak louder… soon they’ll be howling.
Niall – Once a Throwback, bitten, made full Wolf and spoken for at a tribunal many years ago, Hazel first encountered him in Ostia when he led the Pack Kill for Elizabeth in revenge or her lover, Santi.
I have always had a picture of him in mind and the way he is, would fit right in, I think. This character needs another adventure and I’m torn between writing the second part of Hazel’s Rome adventure with Niall or making a modern adventure for him.
Sparky – I don’t have much of a back story for Sparky. He’s one of my real-life friends and he’s a character all on his own. I used to work with him on the doors and he’s honourable, trustworthy and an all-round good-guy. He’s a patient and competent fighter and I really must use this character in more of my stories.
Phelan – Irish Wolf of old stock (probably born) and again, he’s proving to be a great character and with his history, I’m sure I can make more of him… soon…
David – Jack’s father. He’s not been in anything much since Cruel and Unusual and I liked how he was confident and competent in comparison to his wife and their son. He played a powerful Gentleman Wolf to them, but when he encountered other Wolves, it appeared he wasn’t quite as good as he thought he was.
Mart, Bill and Rast Three mercenary brothers that appeared once and disappeared again. The characters were named for three of Trev’s friends from a long time ago (before me) and they always seemed to fit well as a team.
I think these three would be perfect for a number of things – they are strong, Ancient Wolves with attitude to make a story amusing and exciting. I’d all-but forgotten about these guys until I started writing this list.
There have been plenty of Wolves in my books that have been happy to pad out the background, but people on Steemit are starting to take an interest in the Wolves and my mind is wandering to find the Wolves that need back stories and new adventures.
I’m grateful to the people that are making comments and suggestions – I welcome them all – and I promise, I’ll make stories for all the Wolves – back-stories and new adventures… and I’ll also get back into writing that next story I’ve been promising – it’ll be 6 years since I started that one and it really has been too long.
I enjoyed writing Ash’s story and I’m really enjoying Zack’s story so, if I wrote a Wolf story ‘live’ to Steemit, I wonder if you guys, my readers, would be up for that?
It at least encourages me to add to the story every day – but I’ll only do this if you help me by telling me what does work and more important, what DOESN’T work. If you can promise to chime in and tell me, I’m up for it… are you?
– I’ve not forgotten you and I think you’d enjoy reading the story as it unfolds on Steemit…
