You look at your mirror and you always discover a new white hair
A new scratch called wrinkle at the edges of the eyes or on your forehead,a slight loosening on the cheeks.
You look at your body and always something changes.
Something that changes and cannot be as before.
Something that needs double the effort to improve.
And then you go out on the road and notice.
Some young people who look older than you and have no wrinkles at all
Some old people who look younger than you
But they have such glowing eyes...
You go into houses and you see.
Vinegar filled champagne buckets and drapes full of knots.
Plastic glasses filled with the best wine and bread with cheese that satiates you.
Pills that maintain your body and pills that destroy your mind.
Creams for filling wrinkles and somewhere else happiness,that makes them invisible
-I grew old you’re thinking
Yet no one ages from the years that pass over him.
Nobody cares if he can or can not do what he did in his youth when he has found different things to do to grow up.
No one ages when his life is flooded with kindness, love, devotion, smiles, moments of happiness.
He does not get older when his health problems are manageable when the reward from what he gives to his children is to improve them
When he sleeps in the evening in a hug when he wakes up in the morning wishing to be a better person.
No one ages when eating with pleasure, sleeping without need,talking without effort, doing things that please him.
Even if he is not perfect.Even if he’ll never win a prize.
Even if there’s no one left to applaud him.
Even if there’s no one left to record the event.
No one gets older when his heart is pure.
When he appreciates and respects the love he receives.
Without the necessary response but with the necessary attention.
The details gets you older.
Those small but important details that are engraved in the soul and transported to the skin and organs.
Those "I do not want" that have become reality.
Those "I can not" that have become everyday habits
Those friendships that exist for exploitation.
Those loves who betrayed you for a price.
Relationships held without being.
Wooden or paper houses.
Lack of confidence.
The degradation you tolerate.
The life you dreamt but you do not live.
Unanswered words is what grows you older, not answers,even if they are not what you expect.
Indifference to interest is what grows you older.
The every day problems.
Lost hours and unrecognizable efforts.
The frozen reactions.
The piercing of the stomach by the acids.
The heartbeats of unnecessary anxiety.
Trying being liked where they do not like you.
Accepting your diversity from some who have not even accepted themselves.
That’s what is getting you older.
Everything else is just signs in your body without any special significance.
You think you're old.
Look at your mirror and confirm that all you have to do,is to change the causes of wrinkles.
Let them be.
Just make sure,the stories they hide,to be worthy
