Nobody would be happy seeing their pictures, projects/works used by someone else without authorization, not getting the due credit. The individual feels sad and cheated, or a robbery feeling in most cases. There is a deep Remorse for another man, woman using your hard researched work ,intellectual properties and ideas and not being honored. This is a (capital crime) on it's own if you ask me, some had landed in jail, some ended up paying huge fines through their teeth and some gets away with it. It's not only common on the Blockchain-Steemit, but a real life mess as well. So i made my little findings as to why some people commit this appalling act.
GREED
Taking Steemit as a practical example, the notion to earn huge bucks from every blog had prompted so many users into copyright frauds hoping to get a quick-easy reward from another man's hard-work without consequences. Because we all are fortunate that it is a platform that rewards extremely good and intellectual, educative, informative/entertaining contents; thousands had been found guilty of this offence of reaping from other's sweat. This is one of the uttermost factor.
LACK OF CONFIDENCE
Many wants to get all the attention, they desired spotlights so bad but working hard to get their is daunting as the fear factor of not getting recognized kicks in. The truth is, it is sadden to put all efforts into something but never get an iota of credit or recognition for it in the long run. So this individual resolves to take the short-road, hence taking the works of an established author or renowned individuals and pose it as their's.
It is a win-win for this category of people because if the get noticed fine, if they do not get recognized-no hard feelings. Many had gotten away with this; and many more gets bursted. Then what is the gain or moral in wanting to boost your confidence but you ended up stealing?
DEVOID OF IDEAS/SKILLS
Another category of people ventured into this criminal act as the lack some specific skills and knowledge. This they choose as their motives for stealing some specific works, contents, arts and claiming credit for it. An example is an individual with no drawing skill but he/she stumbled upon a portrait on the web or in a Library and takes credit for it as his/her work. Or someone who wishes to be a poet; and they went ahead culling all available piece of poetry they come across and producing them as their own intellectual work.
ATTENTION SEEKING
Many people covet spotlights, just like we all wish we are Hollywood stars or a Pop star. This had pushed gross of people to take account of events they never experienced just to gain popularity. Imagine an African lad talking about an Avalanche in his Village, or a boy in a Tropical Region writing about Snowboarding or ice skating, isn't that obviously ridiculous?
It might sound cool to some readers and audience, but to someone who had not been on a trip to this regions say Europe or America, but making up stories like this and never indicated where he or she got the stories from-except if its a fictional work!
LITTLE OR DEAD CONSCIENCE
To some, having no sense of remorse after every crime means nothing to them. Same thing to Copyrights crimes. It takes only an individual with a dead conscience to take credit for another man's work without feeling sick or sad. Just like some musicians steals beats and lyrics of other songs and spiced it up with theirs.
LESS ATTENTION TO DETAILS
Many people on the other hand just want to get their works done, they do not take little details into account. Some had claimed to forget referencing their works and professionally that doesn't sound too cool. Memories do fail, but not at the expense of somebody's else work.
This are my little findings as to why copyright theft is growing day-in day-out, this guy will appreciate any other reasons from Steemians reading my blog. Kindly drop it in the comments section, your input will be greatly valued. Thanks.
