I am glad to have taken a brief break from writing towards the end of last year, as I feel much more refreshed coming back in the new year and tackling the challenges on Steemit.
I have always heard people talk about celebrating New Years the right way and wrong way, and the traditional view of drinking your own weight in alcohol and trying to forget the last 12 months just doesn't seem to make much sense to me. And so celebrating New Years the right way really starts from making your next 12 months a worthy cause to celebrate come next year's countdown.
If you did end the year on a good note, it makes sense that you'll want to start the new year on an even brighter note. So unless you really enjoy a good fireworks and insist on being awake at the very first second of the new year (relative to where you are on earth), then I suggest a good early night's sleep and watch the sunrise on the first day of the calendar year (I have something else to say about the arbitrariness of the Gregorian Calendar, but that's another post).
So why not start the brand new year enjoying something as simple and beautiful as a sunrise to remind you of the good things in life that we take for granted, and start living health both physically and mentally in 2018!
