Something more romantic to listen to today:
What if today there was a girl right here?
A girl that was running to get away from something or someone or everything and everyone...
And she was running in a forest.
What if it was summer.
Yes, summertime and she is running across the greenery until she finds a lake.
She stops to catch her breath for a while.
As her breathing slows down, she can listen to the sounds of the lake.
It's so peaceful right here. The waters still, the dragonflies all around, the frogs hiding in the soil to stay cool.
Beautiful. Unlike her place, unlike her messed up brain.
She wants to stay here and hide from herself for a while. Hide from herself and the others, all those people following her. Because she is tired, she feels tired, almost exhausted and she needs a break for a while. Just a short tiny while until her brain works right again. And until her heart stops pounding every time she hears the smallest sound.
Suddenly there are noises.
She hears noises and voices, loud voices! They are calling her name and asking for her to go back.
"We won't hurt you."
"We love you."
"Come back."
"We just want to be with you."
Don't you fret, my dear. It 'll all be over soon.
A flying red dragonfly whispered in her ear.
I 'll be waiting here for you...
A little frog said right next to her feet.
She looked at it in surprise. And then she looked at the water in front of her.
She felt the voices coming closer and closer and closer and wanted to cover her ears with her hands so that she wouldn't hear them any more.
It 'll all be over soon.
The frog said again...
She kept holding her head within her hands so tight as if she wanted to squeeze her brains out. She was holding her head and walking slowly ahead. Made it in the water, first the one foot, then the other. Ankle deep. Knees. Thighs. Her waist. The water was now touching her elbows. Shoulders. Neck. Inside her ears it was now. And the voices could not reach her anymore.
I 'll be waiting here for you...
The Civil Wars are one of my favorite duets! I know their music is a bit melancholic but they have done some amazing acoustic covers of popular songs like Dance me to the end of love, No ordinary love and Billie Jean. If you want to relax and enjoy a peaceful evening or you just want to get a little romantic, I suggest you give them a try.
Here are my shots unedited in case you're interested ;)
