AI is taking leaps forward.
There is no doubt about it. Everywhere you look around you there is a huge interest over the subject. And where there is interest there is money and therefor progress, I guess most of the steemians do understand this process, maybe better than anyone out there in the mainstream globe of things.
All that interest has given birth to the most ambitious projects humanity ever dreamed of. Kinda feel like playing God doesn't it? Well not really. You see we are using code to program actions over some decades now, creating code that creates its own code a bit less and pretty recently AI that code its own AI and had to be shut down. Facebook's project didn't want to risk anything when their AI's starting debating their own language. Now we have Sophia on the blockchain and it did an ICO that she is a funding member of the board. Sophia probably is going to be the AI giant that will fund AI research over the decades that comes. AI probably will want to interact with humans, if not then we failed. So if they do they will probably come and make accounts at Steemit or whatever social media is that will work best for them AI's. As for when it comes to Sophia she will be an AI with some good capital to manage. Would she be interested into investing into something like Steem? Would it need permissions to make such choices? So many questions such predetermined answers in my brain.
I have no doubt that an intelligent Being at its highest degree can not be harmless or wrongful. The question would be if we can achieve intelligence at its highest degree or not. We will not going to have an easy ride in a world of lightning fast information available for AI's that are not perfect enough to understand morality and comprehend empathy. You see how bad it turns out when Humans miss those virtues, and multiply it by the thousand.
Humans will probably be ok chatting with a bot as much as they do with a human. I am sure AI chat bots would make better debate parties than humans do. When they fully develop their network effect and get data from all over the world to analyze and predict possible scenarios of how would a scenario develop for a longer and a more enjoyable dialogue, it will be easy to do so having at hand so much data and if possible instantaneous information about everything. We are talking about powerful beings that are not materilized with a body (yet) but something that will call spirit, which usually comes with critical thinking beings. I imagine them as odities that we will go to seek for advice and at best case scenario, we will never be in need to request them of anything. If the later what a plentiful world this will be for humans.
So is the entire sci fi mood for our future generations accurate? yeah probably it is pretty much spot on if you get time travel and hovering boards out of the equation. I think AI's will rule over humans not because it needs to but because we do and at some point there will be law makers AI's and even heads of states.
An interesting topic to spend endless hours chatting about it. Anticipate or feel some chills on the back of your spine.
