Not having written ANYTHING since 2015, I’m finding that working on a previous story is one thing. But starting a brand new story from scratch?? It’s like learning an old job all over again after having an extended vacation.
As some of you know, I’m unofficially participating in the Write Club challenge. I’m so glad it’s unofficial, because I didn’t begin writing my new story till last night (see the wee bit of scribble in the photo above?).
At first I was having trouble finding the time to start. Being a mother of a very active toddler, the struggle was real. But I realized yesterday I just have to make the time if I really want to do this. No more excuses!
I’ve always done better with pen/pencil and paper, so last night after she went to bed I whipped out my notebook and started working. I didn’t get far but it’s a start!
But now, in the time it took to write this post, the little miss is up so I need to go get her and get our day started.
I hope all of you have a wonderful day! And remember, if you’re having trouble getting something started, set aside some time just for that thing, and just start working. Pretty soon you’ll have something going, even if it’s rough and unpolished. And then, if you need help polishing it, come join us at !
