Hello Steemian Friends,
How was your weekend? We hope you had a relaxing time and for those in the U.K., we saw the sun was out for the big occasion (Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's wedding, of course)!
Today is another Random Monday's and we guess going in the theme of last week's post. We decided to write a letter to our future selves that we hope to read in the future (if we can find this post). What year to be exact? Well, we took a selfie of ourselves using the Ageing Booth app on iOS and it produced a portrait photo of what Sam would look like in the year 2052 (he would be 61) and for Becca in the year 2051 (she would be 59). Firstly, we hope we won't look that old when we're nearing 60. The photos with the wrinkles look more like when we're closer to 80 (if we make it). Yet, we're sure we would have grey hair, which is missing from the photo below. Secondly, you never know with the future and the power of medicine, maybe, there will be an effective anti-ageing serum. Would we take it? We don't know, probably not as we like to age gracefully.

Letter To Future Self
Dear Future Sam and Becca,
You made it to sixty years old! Congratulations and a future happy birthday to you. First and foremost, hopefully you don't look like the photos above at sixty! If so, is there an effective anti-ageing serum - take it! Secondly, are you two love birds still together or did something happen along the way? We wish you are happily married with kids and surrounded by loved ones... Although, we hope you are not nearing your end, we wish you can already appreciate what you did with your life with fond memories! Yet, there are plenty more adventures to come!
If you followed your heart and consulted your mind, you should be where you want to be in life. Thus, we hope you're not nearing retirement as we wish you are doing what you love, which means there wasn't a retirement date in the first place. It was never about distinguishing work and life as two separate things; it was about chasing your passion and combining those two aspects as one. It was about finding your purpose in life, a purpose to help those around you in what ever way you can. It was about being the best version of you, being the best version of what a human being should be.
Do you remember where it all started? Do you remember where this letter was written? It was on a social media platform called Steemit on May 21st 2018. You both joined Steemit earlier that year as you chased a long lost ambition to start a travel blog, but you we're too afraid to start one on WordPress two years before as you didn't know how it would end up. You found yourselves in your mid to late 20's unsure of what to do and with no real future plans, just dreams and ideas. Good and great dreams and ideas, but they were just those, nothing more. Gandhi said "All good thoughts and ideas mean nothing without action". Signing up and interacting on Steemit was proof of what you wanted to do turned into action, yes, it's not your own personal travel blog, but it's still a great place to start.
How about your overall dream and goal? You spent months and months planning it all out in your head and it would pop up every day in your mind. So, did it happen? Was there a 'push' or a 'sign' from somewhere to bring those dreams to life? If so, then you should be where you want to be. Yet, are you happy? We would picture the dream everyday, but are you really living it or have you lost sight along the way? The important thing, we wanted to finish off with, is that you did not live your life full of regret of what could of happened. You chose to live those years the way you wanted as there is no rewind button. Yet, we don't want to end this letter on that note. So, if life did not plan out the way we thought it would in our late 20's, note that there is still time to do what you want to do. We want you to really embrace what you have and go for what you believe in - yourself!
Best,
Sam and Becca (in the present - 2018)
