Earlier this week, it looked destined to be John Cena vs. Jinder Mahal at SummerSlam for the WWE Championship.
Cena arriving to interrupt Mahal and announce he was the next challenger looked to lock it down as a certainty, but Daniel Bryan interjected to declare Cena will have to get through Shinsuke Nakamura first.
However, Randall Ortman at Cageside Seats reported this week that a leaked poster for SummerSlam has Mahal, Cena and Nakamura all on it, leading to speculation that both men could be in the title picture next month.
That, inevitably, would have to mean a non-finish next Tuesday on SmackDown Live, when the two meet to determine Mahal's next contender.
But surely Nakamura moving into the WWE Championship scene would be exciting for many fans.
Kevin Owens vs. Shane McMahon on the Cards?
Tuesday was a rough night for Kevin Owens, who had to see the man he wrote off TV, Chris Jericho, return, before dropping the United States Championship to AJ Styles in the SmackDown Live main event.
Right now, the title picture for that particular belt looks somewhat unclear. Will Owens fight Styles at SummerSlam? Will Styles move on and face a fresh challenger?
That, at the moment, looks to be undecided. But Ortman at Cageside Seats reported this week that WWE could yet be teasing fans with the possibility of Owens vs. Shane McMahon at SummerSlam.
There have been plenty of interactions between Owens and Shane of late, and not all of them have been too positive.
That could well be WWE laying the foundations for a potential bout at SummerSlam.
Jason Jordan to Fight The Miz at SummerSlam?
Life must be pretty interesting right now if you're Jason Jordan.
As recently as a fortnight ago he was on SmackDown Live as one half of American Alpha, but now, he's the long-lost son of Kurt Angle and headed for a singles push on Raw.
And news has emerged this week of who Jordan could be looking to feud with in the immediate future, as Billi Bhatti at Sportskeeda reported Jordan could be fighting The Miz for the Intercontinental Championship at SummerSlam next month.
This is pretty big stuff for Jordan and a big indicator that WWE is serious about giving him a major push up the ladder.
Jordan taking on The Miz would be a real test of how far he's come in a short space of time since splitting from Chad Gable, and it would be an interesting watch for sure.
Another Superstar Shake-Up on the Horizon?
It has only been four months since WWE's Superstar Shake-Up, but reports this week have suggested another could already be on the horizon.
These reports come from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (h/t Marc Middleton at WrestlingInc), which said there is talk of another edition of the switching process potentially in the works for soon after SummerSlam.
However, what is more interesting than that from the report is the news there is talk of "sending one or more Superstars from the main roster to WWE NXT."
The thinking there, apparently, is that talents that were huge in NXT but weren't getting a push on the main roster would have more use at Full Sail University.
Immediately, a number of stars spring to mind. This one is definitely worth keeping an eye on as WWE looks to keep its rosters as fresh and interesting as possible across all three shows.
