3 hours ago it got announced by Xbox to buy Activision Blizzard.
So xbox as made a deal with activision (the company behinde call of duty, World of warcraft, Tony hawks pro skater) for 68.7 billion dollars.
The CEO of microsoft Gaming Phil spencer announced that all activision companies would report to him after the deal is closed.
There is no timescale for how long the deal will take to close. it will get looked in to and examined as to whether it creates a monopoly before its formally approved.
And this is becuase the company (activision) is getting sued,
They are gettin sued cuz they are discrimination and mistreatment of women, firing dozens of employees in the wake of investigations and still facing potential consequences in court.
In the past year activision stock has dropped 30%.
and yet it still has a 50 billion market cap, and purchase will go get more antitrust concerns becuase the deal.
CEO Bobby Kotick expects the deal to be done the ending of june 30/2023!
