In this asana body is held like a boat(Nauka), therefore it is called Naukasana.
How to do Naukasana?
- Lie down on the back and join both feet together. Put both hands together with the body.
- Take a long deep breathe and slowly exhaling take your both the hands near the feet and also lift your legs and chest.
- Your eyes, fingers and feet should be in a straight line.
- Feel the strain in the navel due to contraction of stomach muscles.
- Take long deep breathe and stay in the asana
- While exhaling, slowly come to the ground and rest.
Benefits of Naukasana
- Strengthens waist and stomach muscles.
- Strengthens hands and feet and gives the correct shape.
- Beneficial for Hernia's patients.
Contradictions of the Naukasana
- If you have any problems related to low blood pressure, headache, migraine or any back, then do not do this asana.
- Asthma and heart patients do not do this asana.
- Women should not do this posture during pregnancy and first two days of menstrual cycle.
