The SEC is considering handing out an Amnesty of sorts to cryptos that would otherwise be considered securities in an attempt to meet the crypto industry half-way. It's not a blanket "pardon" though. Blatantly unscrupulous projects set up to rug people or commit actual crime would still be prosecuted.

This has been perceived positively in the industry, leading to more hopium especially in the XRP community since Ripple is still in legal tango with the SEC. The new management is still cleaning house at the SEC and it is expected that legal battle will end sooner rather than later. Some have even said by the end of February. Let's wait and see.
