Efforts to conserve the environment are our shared responsibility. In this case, the conservation of the environment is not only the responsibility of the government, but the joint responsibility between the government and the community. In practice, the government has issued several policies that can be used as a legal umbrella for government officials and the public in acting to preserve the environment.
Some of the policies that have been issued by the government include among others the following. 1. Law No. 4/1982 on Basic Provisions on Environmental Management. 2. Decree of the Minister of Industry Number: 148/11 / SK / 4/1985 on the Protection of Toxic and Hazardous Materials in Industrial Companies. 3. Government Regulation (PP) No. 29/1986 on Environmental Impact Analysis. 4. Establishment of an Environmental Control Agency in 1991. In addition, environmental conservation efforts may be undertaken in the following ways:
Conducting soil processing according to condition and ability of land, and arranging irrigation or drainage system so that the flow of water not stagnant.
Provide special treatment to waste, such as processed before disposal, so as not to pollute the environment.
Conducting reforestation on critical, barren and barren lands, and conducting selective logging or cultivation systems for forest sustainability, coastal / coastal water resources, and fauna within it can be maintained.
Creating and using environmentally friendly products.
Monitor and evaluate the behavior of forest concession holders (HPH) in order not to exploit forests on a large scale.
In the meantime, as a student what effort can you make in conserving the environment? Some things you can do as a form of environmental conservation efforts, among others as follows:
Save paper and pencil usage,
Throw garbage in its place,
Utilizing recycled goods,
Saving on electricity, water and fuel use, and,
Planting and caring for trees around the neighborhood.
Besides, this conservation effort must start from every individual by focusing on awareness of the importance of environment for human life and nature conservation.
