Bitmain has blown our minds once again by announcing the new Antminer Z9.
The miner looks like the next big thing – it is 16 times (!!!) more cost-efficient than a GTX 1080 Ti when mining Equihash.
The deal gets even more tempting since we now have the chance to preorder the first batch of units. We all know that in the world of ASICs, those who manage to get units from the first batch profit the most.
My question is: does this rule apply to the Antminer Z9? Will it be as profitable as some of us expect?
While there are many things that come into play, I am inclined to think that jumping on the early adoption bandwagon might not be the best strategy when it comes to the Antminer Z9.
