María y su hermana Judith vivieron días muy duros cuando su madre se fue de la casa por una fuerte discusión con su esposo quien no dejo que se llevara a sus hijas. El matrimonio estaba irremediablemente roto, el alcohol era el culpable de dicha ruptura y atrás de cada botella de licor venían, discusiones cada vez más agresivas donde en ocasiones se presentaron los golpes.

Maria and her sister Judith lived very hard days when their mother left home because of a strong argument with her husband who did not let her take her daughters. The marriage was irretrievably broken, alcohol was the culprit of this rupture and behind every bottle of liquor came increasingly aggressive arguments where sometimes there were blows.

Esto ocurrió cuando María tenía 8 años y su hermana 10, los hechos las llevaron a vivir con su padre cayendo en un pozo sin fondo llamado alcoholismo y ellas sin más opción que vivir con diferentes familiares a donde su padre quisiera llevarlas.

Cuando la hermana mayor cumplió 14 años decidió irse a vivir con su abuela materna y llevarse a su hermana con ella pues en la casa donde vivían con una tía paterna les daba malos tratos. Su abuela las defendió cuando su padre fue a buscarlas y no se las pudo llevar de vuelta.

Conoció a Wilman Bello, a través del Señor Luis Boada que era el esposo de su mama. Wilman era el sobrino de su padrastro, pero para Albertina no era un muchacho que tomara enserio a su hija pues tenía fama de mujeriego así que no aceptaba esa relación.

Con 20 años María llevaba en su vientre el resultado del amor entre ellos, la felicidad e ilusión llegaron para alegrarlos, alegría que se vería empañada por el traslado de su esposo para cumplir su labor en San Juan de los morros, haciendo notar la ironía de la vida.

Wilman was studying to become a police officer at the academy and was close to graduating and starting to work as a policeman. De su relación con Emilio, nació un 16 de agosto de 1993 un niño llamado Gilson Jesús Figuera Sánchez y una niña el 27 de febrero de 1997, dos pequeños que serían para ella sus más preciados tesoros al igual que su hijo mayor aunque no viviera con ella.

Pero ella se dio cuenta cierto día de que las cosas no podían seguir así, su hijo Gilson ya era un hombre de 16 años y estaba creando un resentimiento hacia su padre que cada vez más caía en el alcohol y ya no aportaba lo necesario a su hogar. El 10 de agosto del 2010 se decidió a irse poniendo adelante a los hermanos, con destino a su pueblo natal donde estaba su familia y su madre con su hijo mayor quienes se habían mudado hace unos años atrás.
