Drowning in a glass of water is an expression we use to refer to a person who is overwhelmed or distressed by a situation or problem, which in the eyes of others is not such, or at least is not of the magnitude perceived by the sufferer.

Ahogarse en un vaso de agua, es una expresión que utilizamos para referirnos a una persona que, se agobia o aflige, por una situación o problema, que a la vista de otros no es tal, o al menos no es de la magnitud con que lo percibe quien lo padece.

I got to thinking about this after reading a beautiful and affecting text by @patricksanlin, entitled [Disabled Father Life](https://hive.blog/singapore/@patricksanlin/disabled-father-life), which I invite you to read and support, but I will still summarize the things I liked most.

Me puse a pensar en esto a raíz de leer un hermoso y conmovedor texto de @patricksanlin, titulado [vida de padre discapacitado](https://hive.blog/singapore/@patricksanlin/disabled-father-life) , el cual les invito a leer y apoyar, pero igual les haré un resumen de las cosas que más me gustaron.

Patrick tells us that he has been suffering from a spinal cord injury for ten years and that he can't feel anything from the collarbones down.

Patrick nos cuenta que desde hace diez años sufre una lesión en la médula espinal y que no siente nada desde las clavículas hacia abajo .

In his text he also gives us a couple of certain, beautiful and powerful phrases, which particularly touched me: "Life is always unfairly fair for everyone and every one has their own challenge in their daily life as well as a joyful time." and "We have to make use of our own opportunity to chase our own dream"

So the next time you're in trouble, think of Patrick, who despite the difficulties, doesn't give up. We are all different, we see life differently and face problems differently, however, if you stop to think for a moment with a cool head, you maybe realize that you are drowning in a glass of water, that it is a silly thing that you down compared to the problems faced by others. In the end the important thing is not to give up, if you feel that the burden is heavy seek help, surely among your loved ones and friends there is someone willing to help you out of the problem.
