Bonjour tout le monde!

Laissez moi me présenter. Je m'appelle Jonathan et je suis étudiant en première année à l'ECAM, une haute école en ingénierie industrielle où j'aimerais me diriger vers le domaine de l'électricité; soit en informatique, soit en électronique, je dois encore me décider ! Mais j'ai le temps, car j'aurai à faire ce choix en entrant en quatrième année.

Dans la vie j'ai une série de passions qui animent mon quotidien: jeux vidéos, cuisine, lecture, dessin et peinture de figurine. C'est de ce dernier sujet que je vais parler.

Peinture de figurines

Hobby particulier, il a toujours tendance, lorsqu'introduit auprès de quelqu'un, à surprendre. En effet, qui aurait cru que peindre des petits personnages intéresserait quiconque ? Et bien pourtant c'est une activité que de nombreuses personnes pratique, dont moi évidemment. Laissez moi donc vous expliquer avec d'avantage de précision ce que c'est.

Vous l'aurez compris, il s'agit de peindre des figurines, de tailles variables, quelques centimètres pour la plupart. Mais ce hobby ne se limite pas qu'à la peinture, en effet, il y a aussi un travail de montage à effectuer, qui permet d'ajouter une touche personnalisée à sa création puisque lorsqu'on achète une boite de figurines, ceux-ci sont sous la forme de grappe, il faut donc récupérer les différents éléments avec une pince coupante, puis retirer quelconques défauts avec un couteau de modélisme ou tout autre outil, et puis enfin vient l'étape du collage où l'ensemble commence à prendre vie !

Concernant la peinture, je ne vais pas entrer dans les détails tant il y a de choses à dire, mais c'est l'élément qui fait l'essence de cette passion inhabituelle. En effet on peut parler de la couche de base en spray à poser: blanc, noir ou gris, de la variété de peintures (acrylique, peinture lavis, pigments), des théories concernant les couleurs. Enfin vous l'aurez compris il y a énormément de choses à savoir et à dire.

Mes projets sur le site

C'est pour cette richesse et cette variété de sujets concernant la peinture en elle même que vient mon intérêt soudain pour ce site où je compte développer une série d'articles/guides/tutoriels. Par exemple concernant la peinture d'une figurine bien précise, ou bien une technique en particulier, ou bien même des guides pour faire des socles originaux sans presque rien payer. Enfin je le répète il y a une flopée de possibilités !

Let me introduce myself. My name is Jonathan and I'm a student studying industrial ingeneering and I'd like to pursue in the electricity field. Either in informatic or in electronic, I'm still unsure ! But I've got time to think about that since I've got to choose in the 4th year.

In life I've got a few passions that animate my life: video games, cooking, reading, drawing and miniature painting. I'm going to focus on the last one.

Miniature painting

Miniature painting is a very niche hobby. Who would have thought that painting little characters would be interesting ? Well it's a passion that a lot of people have, including myself of course. Let me explain it to you with more details what it is.

As you've understood it is all about painting miniatures, with various sizes, a few centimeters for most of them. But this hobby isn't just about painting. Indeed there is also an assembly phase, which can bring a whole new level of personalisation because it's made of plastic and working this material is really easy so the possibilies are endless. When you buy a box of miniatures at the store, it comes in form of spruces and you've got to cut pieces of what you're building (arms, head...). When your pieces are cut off, you stil have to remove residuals mold lines or pieces of unwanted plastic, and finaly you can glue the pieces together to bring it alive !

Regarding the painting aspect, I won't go into details because there is so much to say ! But it is for me the essence of the hobby. I can talk about priming your minis which you can do in black, white or grey; the fact that there are differents types of paints available (shades, classic acrylic, pigments); picking the right brush for the right step is also an important part; or even color theory ... You understand my point, there is a steep learning curve.

My projects on the wesite

It is because of this variety of topics in this hobby that I became interested in the website. I want to write a bunch of articles/guides/tutorials about painting a particular mini, or a painting technic or even a guide to make good looking bases. Like I said, there are a lot of possibilities!
