I use the github repository to get the latest code and whenever there's a new release (e.g. v0.12.2) I use the following commands to update steemd: git pull git checkout tags/v0.12.2 rm -rf * git reset

I noticed the hash rate tends to fluctuate a bit. Occasionally it seems there are periods where the hash rate is much lower than normal and this would be a great time to quickly fire up a ton of cores

What's your hash rate / current time to produce? You'll know when you get the POW when in the steemd client you see your hash rate drop dramatically. You'll then see on an update like grahnite found a

The change is only for the reward for top-level posts, not comments. The reward after 4 top-level posts will be decreased, but the reward for comments are unaffected by the volume of posts (or comments).

I see. In theory, 1 SBD = 1 USD so this should be the same as estimated account value in USD. Right now though SBD is trading at ~28% premium (on Poloniex).

I think it's a nice gesture to send SBD to @roelandp. It shows you acknowledge his contribution in a real way and it sets a great precedent for this community.

I think a nice feature would be to only show activity from the top X Steemit users (by Steem power). Anyone can do this now by copying accounts from but I am guessing a lot of users might be doing this

Figure out what the whales upvote and either make content they like or upvote before they do.
