No one can tell the origin of our town's name. But in line with our known history, Carigara was named after the previous chieftain in 1379 called Datu Gara. From Kan Gara to Kalgara to Carigara, the name has changed several times. Localities begin to adopt blacksmithing due to the necessity for a weapon for battle during the Spanish period, as well as a tool for the everyday living of every town member.
