##### The day finally came and it was our first official teammalaysia gathering ! The idea of fixing a date for our first official **teammalaysia** gathering came straight after our Donation Drive for Destiny Homes. The simple theory of pinning a date to it and make it happen seems to work wonders ! One of the first few people who acknowledge it was @awesomianist which has always been one of the pillars of growing TeamMalaysia . Of course not to forget people like @danieldoughty and his supportive wife @viverridae . The positiveness of @karinzdailygrind , @elizacheng , @davidke20 , @zord189 , @aaronleang & @littlenewthings ... also @maverickfoo who didn't attend however send his official representative @deborism

##### The Steem Cartooneeerrs It was great to see people like @sireh a true advocate of steem-cartoon and also meet with the rest of the creative gang which until todate i know only by their work and how many times they got hit by Curie ... =) The entire room was filled with so many wonderful people from all over Malaysia and also we had @the-alien & @kevinwong joined us .... somewhere in the pictures below.

It was more like finally meeting a friend or a family member which you have not met for a long time. **The Steem Network** is not like any other cryptocurrency which people talk about. Yes there are financial gains , however there is also an element of social media which is not seen in any other blockchain out there. And more then 70% of the people in the room were not blockchain experts. Cuz we do not need to be one to be on **Steemit** I guess everyone has posted their experience on the first of many **teammalaysia** gatherings ( http://steemit.com/created/mymeetup18 ) For me, it was truly one of my most memorable moment in life where after months of organizing back to back events with the help and support of the entire community ... then everyone just getting together like a large family was truly and indeed worth every single minute of doing it. It was also a reminder to myself that we should not stop at growing teammalaysia as we need to push for mass expansion and adoption of The Steem Network in Malaysia. I'm really grateful for all of those who came , I apologize for not being able to mingle with every single one of you as would have loved to. For those who was unable to make it .... this is just the first of many gatherings to come and I have a strong feeling that we would surely need a bigger hall ! ___ ##### Not to leave @maverickfoo out .... and also to straight away start planning for our next activity , we had a separate meetup that evening. **Monday came ... and got invited** by @maverick foo to do a quick talk with teenages for a pilot project which @maverickfoo has been working closely with for the past week. The idea was to get these teenages to create content and also to earn some money to support their families in the process. This talk was about making a video using simple tools like your handphone and publishing it onto steemit. More information can be found from @maverickfoo's blogs
