¡Hola amigos de #GEMS! Espero se encuentren bien. Hoy quiero mostrarles sobre un viaje que hice hace años a Mérida (Venezuela) que es mi ciudad preferida para pasar vacaciones. ¡Como extraño ese lugar, fui tan feliz!

Viajé en vehículo junto con mis padres y mi hermanita, el trayecto fue bastante largo. En el trayecto recorrimos la carretera del páramo, lo que nos causó mareos por el cambio de altura y no aguantamos más las ganas de vomitar. Primero fui yo y mi hermanita se reía, después le tocó a ella y entonces me tocó reír a mí. Llegamos muy cansados pero felices porque sabíamos que íbamos a disfrutar mucho nuestra estadía.

Translation:
Hello GEMS friends! I hope you are well. Today I want to show you about a trip I made years ago to Merida (Venezuela) which is my favorite city to spend vacations. How I miss that place, I was so happy!

I traveled by vehicle with my parents and my little sister, the journey was quite long. On the way we traveled the highway to the moor, which caused us dizziness due to the change in altitude and we could no longer bear the urge to vomit. First it was me and my little sister laughed, then it was her turn and then it was my turn to laugh. We arrived very tired but happy because we knew we were going to enjoy our stay a lot.

Tratamos de conocer algunos lugares especiales de la ciudad, uno de ellos es la plaza Bolívar donde se pueden observar espectáculos callejeros que entretienen tanto a los niños como a los adultos.

Translation:
We try to get to know some special places in the city, one of them is Plaza Bolívar where you can watch street shows that entertain both children and adults.

En el centro de la Ciudad de Mérida consigues personas que se disfrazan con trajes muy llamativos y simulan ser estatuas. Las personas se ganaban el dinero honradamente con este tipo de trabajo.

Translation:
In the center of the City of Mérida you get people who dress up in very flashy costumes and pretend to be statues. People earned their money honestly from this kind of work.

La ciudad estaba bastante concurrida en aquel entonces porque era época navideña y las personas andaban comprando los regalos e ingredientes para las hallacas que es una comida típica de Venezuela.

Una de las cosas que más me llamaba la atención era la Catedral.

Translation:
The city was quite crowded at that time because it was Christmas time and people were buying gifts and ingredients for the Hallacas, which is a typical food of Venezuela.

One of the things that most caught my attention was the Cathedral.

El ambiente era festivo porque las plazas estaban llenas de adornos lo que nos hacía muy felices. Encontramos un lindo pesebre o nacimiento que conmemora la verdadera navidad, el nacimiento del niño Dios, algo muy típico en los andes venezolanos.

Translation:
The atmosphere was festive because the squares were full of decorations, which made us very happy. We find a beautiful manger or nativity scene that commemorates true Christmas, the birth of the child God, something very typical in the Venezuelan Andes.

Las plazas de la ciudad son muy lindas, conservadas, limpias y alegres algo que nunca había visto en otras ciudades. Además de la plaza Bolívar, visitamos la Plaza de Milla, Plaza El Llano, Plaza Las Heroínas y Plaza Glorias Patrias, que le dan ese ambiente tan especial a una de las ciudades más turísticas del país.

En las plazas pudimos observar grandes monumentos, varias fuentes de agua que invitaban a sentarse y tomar fotografías. También grandes jardines con lindas flores que embellecían el ambiente y mejoraban el estado de ánimo de las personas. ¿Cómo no disfrutar de un espacio así?

Translation:
The squares of the city are very beautiful, preserved, clean and cheerful something that I have never seen in other cities. In addition to Plaza Bolívar, we visited Plaza de Milla, Plaza El Llano, Plaza Las Heroinas and Plaza Glorias Patrias, which give that special atmosphere to one of the most touristic cities in the country.

In the squares we could see great monuments, several water fountains that invited us to sit and take pictures. Also large gardens with beautiful flowers that beautified the environment and improved the mood of the people. How not to enjoy such a space?

Mi tía siempre nos acompañaba en esas diversas salidas y me divertía mucho con ella porque no le gustaba que le tomaran fotos, pero igual posaba conmigo tímidamente obteniendo bellas fotos a su lado. Siempre fue una acompañante especial con la que compartimos estos bellos momentos.

Tengo tiempo que no la veo porque nos separa la distancia, sin embargo, espero volver a verla y darle un fuerte abrazo.

Translation:
My aunt always accompanied us on these various outings and I had a lot of fun with her because she didn't like to have her pictures taken, but she still timidly posed with me taking beautiful photos by her side. She was always a special companion with whom we shared these beautiful moments.

I have not seen her for a while because the distance separates us, however, I hope to see her again and give her a big hug.
