The main thing that must be taken into account is the contribution that is being made to the environment. As this provides us with plant foods, we must also know how to return the material we use, in the best possible way, without affecting them. Fertilizers are all those substances that contain organic or inorganic nutrients (such as water) that help the growth and formation of plants.

Now let's take a look at the differences in the use of Chemical Fertilizers to Biofertilizers.

1- The use of the Chemical Fertilizers produces the sterilization of the soils, that is to say that it eliminates the majority of the microorganisms that live here; and although they do not believe it, they play an important role in the maintenance of the soil. The microorganisms are the main ones in participating in the cycling of nutrients and other components that may or may not be toxic.

While the use of biofertilizers is given by the work of microorganism that they include, both fungi and bacteria; once these are included in the soil, the cycling of various components and the production of new nutrients are promoted, conditioning the soil for the plants and other organisms.

2- Chemical fertilizer products are in general compounds or molecules isolated or designed solely for the absorption of the plant; that which was not stored by the plant is retained in the soil, accumulates and can pass to nearby waters. With the biofertilizers this accumulation of chemicals does not occur, since the same bacteria and fungi are responsible for producing the necessary without excesses, and what the plant does not assimilate does not present a contamination since it will be a natural product that another organism will take advantage of. This depends a lot on the presentation of the products.

3- Also the presentation of these products affects the assimilation of the plant, as mentioned above, with the chemical products, the plant does not present an efficient use, sometimes having 50% of the use of what is added, while with biofertilizer if even a much greater use, thanks to the presentation of the products, which are better assimilable.

4- Finally, there are the high costs of the use of chemical Fertilizers; these have a more complicated production, they have a more rigorous storage and transport since if the product is damaged it is lost, which increases the cost. While biofertilizers to be natural products only require good insulation which is usually not so complicated; The transport and storage is not rigorous since the microorganisms can be reactivated when adding to the soil and include a little water.

As an example I will mention the Trichoderma viride, a kind of fungus that is used as a biofertilizer and bioremediator thanks to the fact that when it associates with the roots of plants and produces hormones and venebic substances, it promotes an optimal growth and development of the same.
In addition, this fungus is mycoparasitic, that is, it eliminates other fungi that are usually phytopathogenic and affect the plant. They also produce substances that protect plants from diseases caused by certain types of bacteria.

I say this as my own experience that I work in a laboratory of environmental microbiology and I have isolated this species and investigated its benefits in the soil.
