Yes it is an good idea. One problem is that the paper can slip out if you are to hard on the strings. It is smart to do experiment to create different sound on the guitar, PS! I did this 20 years ago too.

Good advices. It is good to check different types of guitars. Many years ago I saw one accordion with MIDI. I thought you could change the sound to heavy guitar and do head banging.. It would be a sight.

Good advice. It is a bit ironic that it is usally easier to handle one expensive guitar than cheep one. The cheep ones are usually hard on the grip, difficult to tune and crappy sound.
