The steem white paper says steem inflation is 10 fold every 3yrs, at which point there is a 1:10 reverse split. That is close to 1% daily inflation

Fundamentally, there is no reason for steem to have any value, and with 1-2% daily inflation lol Steem will work just fine at .001 Just wait until close to 10:1 reverse split in 2.5yrs and then buy steem

Unfortunately, it doesnt matter if steem is $4 or .000001. The price is irrelevant for purchasing steem dollars and steem power with steem, so it has limited utility, and it seems it could go much lower.
