I am a U.S. citizen married to a Filipina here in Davao City, Philippines. I moved here in 2009 and got married to @emaferice in 2010.

We have one son, @zaclucasrice who also has a Steem account that we manage. @emaferice and I had a short vlogging stint from 2011 to 2013 and amassed a decent amount of views on YouTube but we stopped due to the stress from vlogging and uploading a new edited video everyday.

Because of our time on YouTube, we know first-hand the drawbacks of YouTube and I am familiar with the complaints about censorship, demonetization and selected promotion.

My vision for the username @davaocity is to create a platform specifically for Davao City, one where Digital Influencers in Davao City can join and get rewarded for their posts. As of now, a lot of them are blogging and vlogging for a minimal amount of rewards and sometimes for free. I am a member of the Davao Digital Influencers group and I would like to attract some of them here, to the Steem blockchain.

With a Platform dedicated to the Digital Influencers of Davao City (and possibly the city in general) and an account that upvotes their posts (i.e. @DavaoCity), the blogging and vlogging community in this city can be strengthened and a new community of Steem-powered creators will be started here in Davao City, Philippines.

This project will help me get more involved with the Steem community in Davao City. I spoke to about a group of 10 Davao Digital Influencers last week for the first time and introduced them to @dtube, @steepshot, @musing and @steemit but I want to have a guarantee that they can earn once they join to entice them to join the Steem bandwagon.
